Robert Krakow
Robert J. Krakow is an attorney in private practice in New York City and the greater NYC metropolitan area. He is an experienced and accomplished trial lawyer, having handled more than 100 jury trials, arbitrations and other contested matters. Over the years Bob has handled almost every kind of civil and criminal matter in all Federal and State Courts.
Bob's practice areas include vaccine injury claims, toxic torts (including asbestos cases, lead poisoning, catastrophic injury), medical malpractice case, serious auto accidents and related matters. Bob has represented medical and legal professionals in a variety of civil litigation matters. He has handled every kind of serious criminal matters, including white collar crime, securities fraud, medicaid fraud, business crime, fraud, union embezzlement, homicides, drug chages, DWI, and related matters. Bob takes a special interest in providing quality personal services to individuals.
Bob was graduated from the George Washington University Law School in 1979. While in law school Bob pursued his interest in consumer advocacy by serving as Director of the Consumer Protection Center, a law school clinical program.
Bob started his legal career in 1979 with the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG), a consumer advocacy organization. In the 1980’s Bob was a prosecutor with the New York County District Attorney’s office, serving as Bureau Chief of the special narcotics prosecution division.
Bob founded his law firm in 1989, focusing on the trial of civil and criminal cases, and now also specializing in the representation of persons injured by exposure to environmental toxins and vaccines. He represents many adults and children in the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program before the United States Court of Federal Claims.
Bob served from 2002-2009 as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lifespire, Inc. (formerly ACRMD, Association for Children with Retarded Mental Development), a 55 year-old New York and New Jersey not-for-profit organization that operates schools, provides residential, day-habilitation, occupational, educational and medical programs and supports for more than 6000 developmentally disabled adults and children. He continues to serve as a member of the Lifespire Board of Directors. Bob has served as a Board Member of SafeMinds, and founding Board Member of the National Autism Association, – organizations that promote the interests of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, especially in the area of scientific research. Bob also co-founded A-CHAMP (Advocates for Children’s Health Affected by Mercury Poisoning – www.a-champ.org), now also known as the Autism Action Network, a national political action organization that advocates for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Bob has served as a Board Member of the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and is a co-founder of
Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy. Bob has coordinated many Continuing Legal Education events in the area of vaccine injury and has appeared frequently at law schools and public forums as a speaker and commentator in this area.
Bob lives in New York with his wife, Lori and their two children.
